$50 is about $100 too much

Word is going around that Microsoft will be lowering the price of the 360’s HD-DVD peripheral from $130 to $50.

How is it worth even that?

Unless you missed the memo deluge of “it’s official” headlines, HD-DVD is dead. (Here are a few, just for fun.) Does it really matter how cheap the players are? I wouldn’t take one if it were free.

I guess maybe if … no, actually, there is no reason to pay any money for this thing. Just kill it, guys.

I hear they’re also lowering the Betamax player to $30. So I’d get one while you still can!

Hey, I still watch Back to the Future on Laserdisc. OK, not really. But I do listen to the soundtrack on MiniDisc. Maybe not.
